HAPPY HALLOWEEN! My 10 Favorite Horror Movies of All Time.
It’s no secret that horror is my favorite genre. I am obsessed with horror films. They are by far my favorite kind of movies ever since I was a very, very small child. October is my favorite month of the year, and Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year, and I love the fact that everyone really loves to watch horror movies during the month of October, especially as we get closer to Halloween. So, as a celebration of Halloween (my favorite time of year, my favorite holida

A Great Night at the Midway Drive-In!
Last weekend I hosted this year's Flashback Weekend annual Dusk to Dawn Horrorfest at The Midway Drive-In and it was one of the best yet. The Midway is located an hour and forty-five minute drive outside Chicago in charming Dixon, Illinois . The annual all-night horror moviethon in September marks the end of the drive-in season at the Midway and every year it's pretty special. This year was no different. The four terrific films this year were “A Nightmare on Elm Street,”

Day 3 is usually when I take advantage of the vendor room and the Celebrity Photo-Ops. The casts from "The Warriors" and "John Carpenter's The Thing" were so generous and nice to everyone they met and it was no exce

My Top 5 Flashback Weekend Moments
This week I’m dedicating all posts to my favorite event of the year, The Flashback Weekend Horror Convention. Today, I’m focusing on my Top 5 Flashback moments from the past 22 years. 1 ) MEETING & INTERVIEWING JOHN CARPENTER 2012: John Carpenter and me during his Q&A Without question, the highlight of my 22 years as host/moderator at Flashback was in 2012 when my favorite director of all time, John Carpenter , was a special guest. My life changed when I saw "Halloween" in 19

PHICTION: Tales from the World of "Phantasm."
[Don Coscarelli's book Phiction is available on Amazon ] In the spring of 1979 a low-budget horror film called "Phantasm" was released, and to put it mildly, I lost my (almost) 14 year-old mind. I had never seen anything like it (and I had seen HUNDREDS of horror movies by that point in my life), I loved it, and became obsessed with it. It was so crazy, it got to the point where I went to the theater to see it over 100 times that summer...I am not kidding, over 100 times in
