Anthony Bourdain: A Hero
I love Anthony Bourdain. I should probably just say that right up front. There are certain people you admire because they're talented, certain people whose work entertains you, and then occasionally there are people who genuinely change the way you look at the world. Anthony Bourdain was one of those people for me. I thought he was funny, brilliant, profane, adventurous, incredibly well-read, brutally honest and completely original. He was a chef, an author, a traveler, a tel

THE BEST FOOD MOVIES OF ALL TIME
I love food. I love TV shows about food. And I love movies about food. Basically, I just love food. I cook quite a bit—I'm a pretty good chef if I do say so myself—and it's one of my absolute favorite hobbies. It's fulfilling, it's creative, and it just makes me happy. I love eating food, I love talking about food, and when I was doing my radio show, food was a regular topic. We had chefs on as guests, we cooked live on the air, we did tastings—it was always a blast. I still

Taste Off! Soft Baked Breakfast Bars: SunBest vs. Nutri-Grain
This is the beloved Dollar Tree near my apartment. It's open late. It looks lonely. It's awesome. As a born bargain hunter, I regularly visit the Dollar Tree about six blocks from my apartment. I tend to focus my shopping on basic household products, but occasionally, I grab a 2-liter pop, a cheap bag of chips, or a few canned items. I have always been satisfied with the quality and taste of these dollar-store food products, so I thought I'd conduct a Taste Off with one prod

THE CHICKEN BIG MAC!
McDonald's has been teasing us for at least two years, but now it's finally here: THE CHICKEN BIG MAC ! Yes, it's the poultry-based version of the classic Big Mac. It features two tempura-battered chicken patties on a Big Mac bun with Big Mac Special Sauce, cheese, lettuce, and pickle slices. The Chicken Big Mac was previously available in the U.K. and Ireland in 2022, where it sold out within 10 days. It was also tested in Miami in 2022, with lines out the door and jammed d

Taste-Off! Toast'em Pop-Ups Vs. Pop Tarts
As a born bargain hunter, I regularly visit a Dollar Tree about six blocks from my apartment. I tend to focus my shopping on basic household products, but occasionally, I grab a 2-liter pop, a cheap bag of chips, or a few canned items. I have always been satisfied with the quality and taste of these dollar-store food products, so I thought I'd taste test one product I particularly enjoy: Toaster Pastries! Ah yes, toaster pastries, those fantastic jelly or cream-filled tarts

A Fast Food Discrepancy
I don't eat a lot of fast food. The only times I really partake in places like McDonald's or Burger King or Subway is when I have a lot to do or have multiple movie screenings in a day and those places are the only choices around. Luckily, there are other, better establishments near many of the theaters where films are screened for the critics, like Whole Foods and Nando's PERi-PERi (which I love!), so I don't need to jam a Big Mac down my throat very often. Well, until v
