I am busting out my reliable Film Critic's pants to review four new movies in this week's capsule (short) movie reviews for Friday, February 7, 2025. 1) HEART EYES The horror-comedy genre is a tricky balance to pull off. For every "Scream"  or "Happy Death Day,"  plenty of movies either lean too hard into the horror and forget to be funny or go full comedy and leave the horror as an afterthought. The outstanding new Martin Scorsese -produced documentary "Beatles '64"  has been released on Disney+ this week, and it is definitely worth watching. It is a terrific film that captures the madness of the Beatles' arrival in the U.S. and the aftermath of their first three-week visit to the country in February 1964, which included their historic appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Coming up next for my monthly Nick's Pix series is the 1982 American drama "Shoot the Moon," directed by Alan Parker and starring Diane Keaton and Albert Finney. This one-night-only screening scheduled for Wed, Sept 11th at the Lake Theater in Oak Park is one of the most devastating movies about marriage and divorce ever made; it's also one of my favorite films of all time.
